How to become a Provincial Archery Judge

There is always a need for more judges throughout the Province.
In Alberta Provincial Judges are required to pass two levels of certification to become fully qualified:
- Provincial Judge Technical.
- Provincial Judge Practical.
Provincial Judge Technical
- register for a Judges Clinic.
- complete a Pre-Clinic Questionnaire.
- attend a one day Judges Clinic.
- achieve 80% or better on the Clinic exam and the Case Study Presentations (a mark of 50% - 80% is Club Judge standing)
The cost of a Clinic is $80.00 which covers $20.00 Registration fee, a current FCA/FITA Rule Book, administration costs and $25.00 FCA Judge Registration.
Provincial Judge Practical
- judge with Provincial Judges for at least one Indoor and one outdoor season.
- show a working knowledge of the rules, good judgment and receive satisfactory evaluations.
- judge a minimum of:
- three Indoor FITA's
- three Outdoor FITA's
- one FITA Field
From ATAA, Provincial Judges receive travel, accommodation, and a per diem as do judges-in-training. Clubs holding shoots give an honorarium of $15.00 for one day shoot and $25.00 for two day/weekend shoot to the Provincial Judge.
